7. Uokatsu

Uokatsu is the combination of the letters ‘fish’ and ‘win’ in Japanese, and nothing trumps Uokatsu’s passion for Japanese seafood. Founded in 2014, Uokatsu is run by Japanese chef Masamichi Tomono and his Malaysian wife, Winnie. In fact, Masamichi Tomono comes from a family of Hokkaido-based fishermen, and perhaps this is why the restaurant is devoted to the art of Japanese seafood! We recommend their mentai rice that tops pollock roe onto rice and egg for a simple yet flavourful dish.
