Being a relatively new face in the café industry, BUNCH, was formerly a high-end bungalow that had been reinvented into a café in 2019. Having an appearance resembling a glasshouse with a stunning gabled glass roof and furnished with elegant velvet chairs and big windows, this café, would instil an irresistible urge for you stop and snap a picture as it is truly picturesque. Besides its appealing appearance and décor, the food here is another attraction of BUNCH, where an extensive menu of Western and local delights are offered alongside a line-up of artisan coffee and sweet desserts. Unlike a typical café, BUNCH has a food hall concept, where various famous cafes and eateries have set up a stall in BUNCH. Some of their notable tenants include Owls Café and My Thai Elephant restaurant, and Forty Licks, so you would never be short of choices in BUNCH.

2. Awesome Canteen

Bearing a concept revolving around the serving of healthy paleo diet inspired cuisines, Awesome Canteen truly does live up to its name, being an excellent cafe to dine in. If you aren’t a health nut, you’re probably wondering what paleo diet is. In a nutshell (no pun intended), the paleo diet is a type of diet which comprises of lots of nuts, berries and meat with minimal to no processed and dairy ingredients. One of their signature paleo diet inspired dish would be the Paleo Beef Burger which boasts a brilliant combination of healthy and delicious, having a juicy organic patty topped with tender mushroom along with a side of scrambled eggs and salad. Even so, if you aren’t a fan of the paleo diet, don’t worry as they have regular café cuisines on their menu too, where another one of their bestselling dishes include the Sambal Chicken Burger. When visiting this café, do try to avoid the peak hours as parking could be a hassle.

3. Rekindle

Having a more extended operating hour than the typical café, opening till the late hours of 1 am on Fridays and Sundays, Rekindle would be the place to go if you’re looking to satisfy your late-night coffee cravings. Having a rustic theme with brick walls and a vintage bicycle leaning against the counter, Rekindle café, bears an interior resembling a little cottage having a warm atmosphere with yellow lighting overhead. Famous for their penchant for serving Nutella infused dishes and beverages, their Nutella cake and Upside Down (Nutella-coated glass, topped with milk and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream) is a must-have if you are a chocolate lover. Besides sweet treats, Rekindle also offers savoury meals such as Smoke Salmon Turkey, Ham Cheese Tomato, Roast Beef and Croissant, which are perfect for you if you’re looking for something to fill you up. Pair their Nutella cake or a meal with a coffee or latte, and you’re sure to have a satisfying meal at Rekindle.

4. Coffee Good Golly Miss Molly

Though the name of this café might put your tongue in a twist, you are sure to unwind and catch a breather at Coffee Good Golly Miss Molly. As this cafe is assembled with exposed brick walls and wooden flooring, it bears a calm and homey atmosphere making it an ideal place to chill. Having a menu centred on the serving of coffee, cakes, and pastries, one cake that you must-try is their Tiramisu cake. Creamy on the outside with a spongy inside, this cake will melt in your mouth with a bite. Pair this cake up with their brewed freshly brewed coffee, and you’re in for a treat. On a side note, you will be glad to know that this café does not charge you with service charge and tax, so the price you see on the menu is all that you have to pay!

5. Milligram

Situated amidst a shop lot in Taman Mayang, you are sure to spot Milligram easily with its bold black and white signboard. Sporting an overall appearance of white with a mix of cyan, Milligram bears a tranquil and cosy setup that makes it a perfect stop if you’re looking for a little break. What makes this café a favourite among the locals isn’t just its aesthetics though, as it is known to serve up a wide selection of mouth-watering comfort foods. Some signature mains in this café include The Mother Porker Burger, The Stringy Bac+Cheese and The Lazy Pig. Besides its mains, their desserts are not to be ignored either as they offer numerous sweet delights ranging from cakes, pancakes, French toast, and waffle which not only look fantastic but, of course, taste great as well.
