Sarang by the Brook is also a great place to be for a private retreat amidst the lush tropical jungle. This retreat comprises a collection of private homes set in the middle of a jungle right at the edge of a small town called Kuala Kubu Baru. Only an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, Sarang by the Brook is also ideal for anyone who loves a serene, natural atmosphere and a variety of outdoor activities.

This hotel is styled using shipping containers, and it only has 11 rooms with a tropical garden encircling the swimming pool. With that said, visitors can enjoy a more private stay here.

Another well-known private retreat located near Kuala Lumpur is the Sekeping Serendah Retreat, also about an hour drive north of Kuala Lumpur. Something interesting about this retreat is their ‘glorified tents’, which are very simple sheds that are intentionally kept basic. Sekeping Serendah consists of ten sheds within five acres of tropical rainforest.

Over at Sekeping Serendah, visitors can enjoy a multitude of activities such as swimming, jungle trekking, take a look at the waterfalls, visit the Orang Asli villages, fishing and more.
