Some of us can do brunch and have the energy we need for the whole day. In order to do that, a hearty, filling brunch should be our go-to. That is why we have compiled a few must-try brunch spots here in Petaling Jaya.
1. Strangers at 47 (Pork-free)
Strangers at 47 are well-known for their big breakfast. For brunch enthusiasts, you can expect a hearty meal here with a nice ambience. Their big breakfast consists of a sunny side up or scrambled egg with a side of spinach, mushroom, hashbrown, chicken chorizo and chicken ham. Not only that, but this award-winning cafe also prides itself in their sweet and savoury fusion crepes. 2. Zao – Breakfast Anytime (Non-halal)
Zao is also another great place to have your brunch fix here in PJ. Unlike the usual big breakfast, Zao’s breakfast platter includes a large slab of ham or pork chop with a little extra charge. Diners can expect to dine comfortably in this modern and minimalistic establishment with good food. Besides the big breakfast enough to last you a day, their sandwiches are a big hit too! Don’t forget to give their pork sandwich a try!

3. Village Park Restaurant (Halal)
When Village Park is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is their Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng. Village Park’s Nasi Lemak is a crowd’s favourite whenever they want to indulge in a filling breakfast. However, diners should not forget that the Nasi Lemak is all there is to offer. The establishment also offers a wide variety of food such as soto, assam laksa, and Malay kuih-muih. Diners can give Cucur Badak a try, a crispy deep-fried dough with spicy chilli-coconut filling. It’s a local favourite.

4. Maraj Restaurant and Cafe (Vegetarian)
Maraj Cafe will be an interesting take on brunch if you don’t usually have Indian vegetarian food. Maraj Cafe offers authentic north Indian food. Diners will be happy to know that there is a wide array of food for them to choose from. For example, diners can try their Nasi Lemak and Nasi Briyani, along with the different types of wraps, roti and ‘teh tarik’. Another thing about Maraj is that it even serves burgers as well! 5. The Toast and Roast (Non-halal)
Are you craving for some roast pork or Char Siew? Look no further because this place has it all. The Toast and Roast is very well-known for their roast pork. Pair it with rice or noodles, and it will leave you wanting more. This eatery can be found in the middle of a row of shop lots in Jalan SS2/72. Although the shop may look small and unassuming, it certainly made a name for itself by offering one of the best char siew dishes in the neighbourhood. If you’re craving a Chinese meal and loads of good meat for lunch, the Toast and Roast is a good place to consider.
